At the Maula prison, we sponsor quarterly soccer tournaments where we preach the gospel at half-time to more than 2,000 inmates. Close to 200 prisoners attend our weekly bible studies. Each week we meet with inmates, sing worship songs and tell and discuss Bible stories. We have found this to be the most effective way of engaging prison with the Bible since the vast majority are not readers. Malawian Charles Masukwa, a former Maula inmate and now an ABC graduate from the class of 2013 is now leading this ministry.

We have also had the opportunity to partner with students in ministering to Malawi's children. Now, thanks to our friends at http://www.songsforsaplings.com/ we have a children’s CD of catechism and scripture songs recorded in the Chichewa language that we use to teach biblical truths to children in churches and orphanages. Levi Dannayo, who graduated from ABC in 2011, is teaching these songs to children throughout the central region of Malawi.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
